For a newsletter that has outgrown a small free list

Investigate Kit when the newsletter itself is the main product and a larger free broadcast allowance matters. Use our costs guide to separate the audience requirement from paid features. Test a real issue with your own addresses, including mobile layout and the link readers will use to reply.

For a customer database with smaller sending batches

Investigate Brevo when you store more contacts than you normally message at once. Draw your busiest campaign day before choosing a tier. A contact database can fit while a same-day announcement does not. Our MailerLite versus Brevo comparison works through that scheduling difference.

When staying is the cheaper decision

If your forms, templates and subscriber records already work, paying for the next suitable tier may take less effort than moving. List what has to be rebuilt and who will check it. A switch made only to avoid a small subscription can consume more working time than it saves. This is especially relevant before a launch with a fixed date.

Use one acceptance test for both alternatives

Create a form, subscribe with a test address, send a representative message, click through to your website and unsubscribe. Record which plan was used and which steps needed workarounds. Repeat the same task in each product. Do not use an attractive demonstration account as proof that your own integration will work.

Plan the move before importing contacts

Prepare a field map: email address, consent evidence, subscription status, language and any segment your campaigns depend on. Work with a small test export first. Confirm how unsubscribed addresses are handled so that migration does not reactivate them. Schedule a cutover and pause the old campaigns before enabling their replacements.

Our shortlist is deliberately limited

Kit and Brevo are the two alternatives covered in our existing research. This is not an exhaustive market ranking. If neither solves your essential workflow, expand the shortlist around that requirement instead of choosing the least inconvenient option from this page.
